I am thankful for being alive every day. More than so, I am grateful that I am no slave to anyone or in any situation. 

It is hard to fathom that in the world today, slavery still exists, in many forms and shapes. They are real. Many were touched when they watched the academy-award movie “12 years A Slave”. But have we thought about how we can play a part in helping those who are enslaved, still?

Recently, we chanced upon The Loyal Workshop, a social enterprise founded to provide an opportunity for freedom. They believe not only that business can be a tool to bring freedom to those trapped in slavery, but also it’s about freedom.

The Loyal Workshop provides training to these oppressed women in Kolkata, India, from backgrounds of poverty and were sold, stolen, trafficked and forced against their will into sex trade. They provide new hope to these women who are talented and still have hopes and dreams for tomorrow.

They handcraft beautiful satchels, wallets and belts. Every product created by The Loyal Workshop is part of a woman’s freedom journey.
